Mechanical and thermal properties of modified Georgian and Brazilian clay infused biobased epoxy nanocomposites

چکیده
This study focuses on the preparation and characterization of nanocomposite system with bio-based epoxy resin (Super SAP 100/1000, contains 37% carbon content) natural clays including Georgian clay Brazilian clay. was surface modified using an ultrasound processing in presence Decalin. to organophilic bentonite quaternary ammonium salts. The resulting nano particles were characterized XRD TEM confirm particle size reduction uniform distribution. as-fabricated nanocomposites flexure, DMA, TMA TGA. flexure analysis showed that composites have significant improvement strength (23–38%) modulus (28–37%). Delayed thermal degradation observed from TGA which major temperatures improved 7°-25°C. DMA improvements storage moduli (4–6%) coefficient expansion (CTE) (6–64%), respectively. notable mechanical properties suggested effective dispersion high degree polymer interaction. bio based content present Super Sap 100/1000 acts as plasticizer extensive ductility polymer.
